I am a minor and my home is not safe — who can I tell?

Tell a trusted adult at school — a counselor, teacher, social worker, coach or school resource officer — who can report to DCFS.

Tell a trusted adult at school: a counselor, teacher, social worker, coach or school resource officer. They are mandated reporters and can contact DCFS for you.

If you do not feel safe, you can contact your local police department, DCFS, or both. You do not need an adult's permission to ask for help.

Your safety and mental health come first. If you are in immediate danger, call 911.
