Multi-year DCFS cases are unfortunately common in Illinois. The timeline depends on why the children were removed and how quickly the parent completes the services, conditions and goals set by DCFS and the judge.
Keep documentation of every class, evaluation, drug test and visit. Completion you cannot prove is treated as completion that did not happen.
At the permanency review hearing, an attorney can present evidence that the goals were met and argue that the children should come home.
